Media portfolio blog 11

For today's blog I would like to dive deeper into the origin of our character: Aizen Smith, the name has officially been changed! After much research we have decided to alter the name of our character to better match our actors physical appearance. He is six feet tall and 185 pounds, we also picked the name as it sounds striking and sounds like a fighters name. Moreover, the name is quite catchy and relatively easy to say, while also being diverse and uncommon.

Moreover, we decided to slightly alter one of the scenes. Instead having a separate scene about our fighter seeing his child in the hospital, and breaking the flow of the intense training montage, we decided to incorporate the son through the use of a picture that Aizen looks at in his locker, towards the end of the film. We want to hint at the fact that the son is not well and that the dad misses him very much, but he must be away to train, kind of balancing that work vs family life. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier we have finalized our song, the song is called "Runnin" by Ludwig Goransson. The song is upbeat and motivating, but starts calm, and relaxed, building up to the moment where the intense training will start. This is perfect as the first part of our film opening is going to be Aizen stretching, and then him working out more intensely as the music increases in tempo and rhythm. We want the music to be in sink with the characters training. Furthermore, we also believe that the song is good to use as it seems to be allowing usage according to the youtube videos caption: "To whomever it may concern: "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing." (YouTube, 2019).

There is not really much of a script in our film, as most of the sound will consist of the music. Finally, we believe that our music is also favored by our target audience, young to middle aged males (16-35). The song features famous rapper ASAP Rocky, and is also very up to date with the latest trends.
